Announcing an online Conservation Standards training opportunity! This fun and highly interactive introductory course is offered through the nonprofit Center for Wildlife Studies and will focus primarily on Steps 1 and 2.
The course will be taught live through hands-on and experiential learning with minimal lectures and homework. Except for the first day which will last 2 hours, we will meet for 3 hours per day on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 3 consecutive weeks. Instructors will introduce Conservation Standards concepts and tools each day, and then work with students in small breakout teams to apply these tools to case studies. At the end of each day, the breakout teams will convene in plenary to compare notes, discuss findings, and provide group feedback.
The course is approved for Wildlife Society Associate or Certified Wildlife Biologist® continuing education credit. Class size is limited to allow for instructor-facilitated small-team-based learning. This course filled quickly the last time we offered it, so we encourage interested parties to reserve their seats.
